Alt Physical Therapy and Myofascial Release-Combines Treatment Method
Physical Therapy sessions may include a combination of Myofascial Release, Cranio-Sacral Therapy and joint mobilization. PT sessions may also include a specific exercise program focused on regaining flexibility, stability and strength and a home self-care plan specific to you and your needs.
My approach to work with you is simple, focused, and different from our current medical system. The whole approach is focused on you. I work in a private clinic and you will see me one on one 100% of the time. After the initial evaluation, the time is spent on you. My approach is individualized, specific, wholistic and unique to you and your needs. My main approach to treating you is Myofascial Release. |
This type of manual therapy focuses on the connective tissue called fascia. Fascia surrounds and infuses each structure of the body down to the cellular level. It is a tough connective tissue which spreads throughout the body in a three-dimensional web from head to foot without interruption. As the fascia has tightened down and hardened in areas it can cause pain, decreased flexibility, numbness, tingling and many other symptoms.
Fascial restrictions may be caused by a prior injury, physical or emotional trauma, surgery, faulty posture, inflammation, that created tightness, weakness or faulty movement patterns. This can create a binding down of fascia resulting in excessive pressure on nerves, muscles, blood vessels, bone and organs. Many people suffering with pain and/or lack of motion may be having fascial problems. Myofascial Release softens and lengthens fascial restrictions, which allows the tissues of the body increased tissue flexibility, pliability and decreased pain. Follow up exercises can be used to increase stability, flexibility, and correct movement patterns.
My goal is to find and treat the ROOT of your pain and return you to your active lifestyle as soon as possible. Everything is interconnected in the body. In my training and experience I have often discovered that even though you have pain in on area of the body, working and balancing the whole structure is important.
Most Physical Therapy clients will require treatment 1-3 times a week, with a gradual decrease in frequency as your symptoms improve. Each treatment session is designed to address your specific goals and will be modified according to your response to treatment and progress toward your goals. I will instruct you on a self-care program and it will be your responsibility to carry through with those exercises at home. Our time spent together in session will be spent on Myofascial Release, Cranio-Sacral Therapy, Joint Mobilization etc. Once you have met your specific initial goals, we can re-evaluate your frequency and set new goals for continuing your follow up sessions.
I look forward to working with you soon! Please don’t hesitate to call with any questions or to discuss possible treatment options specifically designed for you. Regarding your session:
