Physical Therapy and Myofascial Release
Physical Therapy sessions may include a combination of Myofascial Release, CranioSacral Therapy and joint mobilization. PT sessions may also include a specific exercise program focused on regaining flexibility, stability and strength and a home self care plan specific to you and your needs.
Fascia is a tough connective tissue which spreads throughout the body in a three dimensional web from head to foot without interruption. Trauma, poor posture or inflammation can create a binding down of fascia resulting in excessive pressure on nerves, muscles, blood vessels, bone and organs. Many people suffering with pain and/or lack of motion may be having fascial problems. The John F. Barnes' Myofascial Release (MFR) Approach consists of gentle application of sustained pressure into fascial restriction. This results in increased flexibility and pain relief.
